Aquabike Olympic Distance Training Plan - Beginner - 16 weeks

Are you ready to take on an Olympic distance Aquabike? You've come to the right place! This program will help the beginner or advance beginner triathlete train and prepare for an 'olympic' distance triathlon consisting of a 1.5k swim and 40km bike.

Athletes using this Hypercat Racing training program to prepare for an Olympic distance Aquabike should be in good health and cleared by their personal physician to engage in vigorous endurance training.

Your current fitness should be at a level equivalent of the benchmarks below:
-Able to swim 800 yards/meters in a pool workout.
-Able to bike 45 min.

The plan is created for a balanced training approach in the swim / bike disciplines.
2-3+ swim sessions per week (starting at 900 yards in week #1)
3+ bike sessions per week (starting at 40 min in week #1)

This 16 week training plan has a volume of training ranging from 3:45 to 8:00 hours per week. Many workouts have a range of time so that you can adjust to your available time to train as well as your fitness level and goals.

-bike, helmet
-watch

Additional equipment suggested to get the most out of your training plan:
-heart rate monitor
-cycling computer with cadence function
-stationary trainer for indoor bike rides
-wetsuit
